Jed Kennedy is the head football coach and leader of the Dothan High School football program in Alabama, where he oversees all aspects of head coaching at the high school level.
Since taking over the school football program, Kennedy has worked closely with the athletic director to establish a culture built on discipline, accountability, and competitive excellence. As head football coach, he is responsible for player development, staff management, and long-term program growth within one of the state’s most competitive regions.
Kennedy’s coaching journey has taken him through multiple states, working as a head coach in Florida and Wisconsin before taking over the football program at Dothan HS.
Along the way, he has been influenced by respected figures such as coach Rick Darlington, whose emphasis on preparation and physical play helped shape Kennedy’s approach to team building. His career has included deep postseason runs and contention for a state championship, reinforcing his reputation as a program builder capable of sustaining success. His overall record after 19 years as a head coach is 142-63, including 26-10 in the playoffs and a State Championship in 2011.
Kennedy's offenses at Dothan and prior stops have relied heavily on his version of the Single Wing offense.
